New Player Path. Episode #1.

Ok so it is a common thought that EVE is quite unfriendly to the new players, that it is 'nearly impossible' to make money in EVE full of bittervets and players who play for years and years, and so on.

Look, I am the new player. Well, not THAT new, but yesterday night I was a brand new character with literally zero skills and 5000 isk on its newbie wallet.

After 20 mins of touching myself on the station, I had more than 4mil ISK, which is more than enough to buy the starting skills, which will be the solid foundation of my core PvP training in future.

This is how it looks.

This is the entire wallet history of this toon (Ari Ink)

Yes, I know that 4m is absolutely nothing in the scale of EVE, but hey, we are talking about the new guy's first steps and how easy it is actually to make a fresh start in New Eden. As you can see on the screenshots, it is very easy. Even for a brand new character.

Yep. Brand new. Born some time ago, but not used for a single day before.

The pictures of the character are above, so you can see that Im not lying. Im new.

The Guide

Ok, so long story short. The most easiest starting money are coming from the Project Discovery minigames. All you need to do is go through the tutorial (its very easy and entertaining) and then make an approximate ngons on every dotted picture, circling the highly definable pictures of the two or more virus colonies that are shown there. Every child can do it, and you dont need a lot of time to make your first couple of millions isk. It'll just flow into your wallet in 10-20 minutes.

You cant do it indefinetely and all day long however, because CCP has implemented a strict rules, that are there to prevent any kind of botting in this thing. The restrictions are:

  • You can not make more than 5 pictures a minute
  • You can not earn more exp that you are allowed to per day (24 hrs)

This can piss you off, but look at in from the other side: the chinese botters also cant get thousands of Marshals out of it, and ruin your game every day.

If you are just starting, the restrictions will allow you to go past 9 Analyst Rank, but will not allow you to reach the Analyst Rank 10. You will be forced to stop before reaching it. My Discovery stopped me after I got6 639 exp. I assume yours will likely do the same. The Analyst Rank 10 requires 7 500 exp, so yea. It can be very annoying. The cooldown timer is 24 hours. Speaking of numbers, you will get used to that one eventually, while playing Eve. Just get over it and train your Patience skill up to V, while playing it. Max it up and eventually you will prosper as a demigod capsuleer.

And this is basicly it.The guide is short and easy. Because Eve is easy (not short though, haha). Anyway, the picture of someone doing their Discovery is below. It shows exactly what you need to do on every picture that pops up in front of you. Look at it and repeat.

Good luck. May the EVE be with you.
